You Don't Need to Code to Work in Tech

During middle school, I often thought that working in tech meant that I would have to be coding all day, every day. However, the reality is that there are tech jobs that you don't involve significant coding at all!

Here are some of them:

1) User Interface Designer- A UI Designer decides how the user interacts with the interface of an app, website, or game. They work closely with User Experience Designers to ensure that the final product is created efficiently and easily for the user to use! According to indeed.com, the average salary is $85,565 per year in the United States.

2) Software Quality Tester- A Software Quality Tester tests out the quality of different software product before they are released to the public! They ensure that it meets all expectations, standards, and guidelines and it is ready to be marketed.

3) Data Analyst- This job sounds exactly like its title! Essentially, a data analyst analyzes data. They turn the data into information that business can use to improve their decisions. They predict and interpret patterns and trends.

4) Technical Recruiter- A technical recruiter is responsible for sourcing potential candidates and hiring people to fill technical positions with a company.

5) Web Analytics Specialist- Web Analytics Specialists use data to analyze a certain websites design and fix it, in order to increase views, interaction, improving the user experience, and more!

There are many more tech jobs that don't require coding but here are just a few. Again, coding is not for everyone! Don't be discouraged and keep trying to explore new things to develop your passion in STEM.
